Founder & CEO

Ruben Moreno is a Founding Member of Blue Rock Human Capital and leads the Blue Rock Human Resources and Private Equity Executive Search practices. He specializes in Chief HR Officers, Human Capital Partners, Presidents, and other top C-suite leadership positions across a variety of industry verticals. With over 15 years of previous experience in corporate America, Ruben is a subject matter expert and national thought leader in executive recruitment. At Blue Rock, Ruben has been dedicated to partnering with his clients for over 20 years to identify, assess, and recruit the best Human Resources and executive leadership talent available. He has successfully placed hundreds of professionals and cultivated deep relationships across various job functions and industry verticals. His clients consider him a trusted partner who takes the time to understand their business and deliver value beyond executive search.

 

Ruben also has extensive experience designing and implementing recruiting systems, processes, and tools. He has collaborated with multiple clients to develop and implement “fit for purpose” talent solutions. Notable work in this area includes executing a talent availability study for five targeted US cities, working with a North American TA leader to build out organizational and staffing plans, providing interim global staffing leadership for a high-growth client, and serving as the on-the-ground HR/TA integration resource for a global company making an international acquisition. Additionally, Ruben has facilitated expert panels at national HR and Private Equity conferences, sharing his insights and expertise with industry leaders.

 

Before entering the world of executive search, Ruben held multiple senior-level HR leadership roles for several well-known Fortune 500 organizations. His extensive experience in both HR/PE leadership and executive recruiting makes him an invaluable asset to his clients.

Get to Know Ruben

A native New Yorker, and self-identified foody, Ruben is a lover of great food, great wine, and great company. While he listens to music of all genres, you will most often find him listening to smooth jazz on Pandora or Watercolors on Sirius XM radio. When time permits, you might also find him at jazz clubs across the country enjoying a “live entertainment,” moment. A twenty-year resident of Knoxville, TN, he has come to call “The Smokies” home and will often spend a long weekend in a cozy cabin in the mountains to slow down and fully take in their beauty.

Having recently caught the travel bug, Ruben has a newfound passion in seeking experiences in different places, countries, and continents. Ruben’s go-to relaxation place is being lost in a good book sitting in a lounge chair by the pool. If he could spend the rest of his days listening to the sounds of an ocean shoreline, lost with a stack of Grisham novels by his side, he would.

In retirement, Ruben looks forward to continuing to travel the world, finally organizing the 20,000+ pics he has saved in the cloud, catching up on his reading, writing a short book, and maybe even teaching a class on a university campus.

Ruben and his life partner, Jacqui, split their time between Knoxville and Sarasota.
